Carrie

I recently saw the remake of Stephen King's novel Carrie. Mind you, I never saw the first movie of Carrie so I don't really have anything to compare it to. But I did cheat and read a Wikipedia article on the book. And I do say I enjoy the movie, even though my date didn't like it so much. I liked it but I felt bad for Carrie for being bullied. I think the blonde girl did a good thing even though it was bad timing because that brunette girl ruined everything. What a weird way to end prom...

I find it crazy how the mother misread the bible into scaring her daughter. She was freakishly over religious. She said even though she was married she didn't lay with her husband but he raped her anyway. Causing Carrie to be conceived than born. I thought it was crazy that she almost killed Carrie.

Ghosts Hauntings

Today I heard a discussion on the radio about hauntings and ghost sighting. Apparently one of the radio hosts thinks his house is haunted. I personally am not sure if I ever lived in a haunted place before. But I know a few of my cousins, who lived on a military base has some stories about their experiences.

My younger cousin told me when she lived in a military base in Kansas that she always was afraid to walk out of her room in the morning for fear she might see something at the end of the hall. She told me one time when she was laying down on her bed doing her homework she thought she felt her bed canopy fall across her legs. She ignored it for a little bit but she said when she went to scratch her leg, that the canopy wasn't touching her legs. She also claims to have a video of her and her sister talking in her bedroom, and in the background you can see her laundry hamper be picked up from the floor and knocked over.

My older cousins who used to live on military bases when they were teenagers have some stories also. My cousin told me that one night she was sleeping then she woke up for no reason at all and couldn't move. She lay there silently staring at her ceiling and then all of the sudden she said somethings grabbed her by her ankles and pulled her to the foot of her bed. After reaching the foot of her bed she gained back the ability to move, and boy did she jump out of bed and scream her head off.

I have a few family members that have ghost stories about Panama, but that's another story.

Call me Chef

Recently I picked up an interest in cooking. I'm just experimenting with stuff around the house and making things to see what's good. I recently tried tried making fried chicken. Well I made two types of fried chicken, I fried one batch and baked the other to see how it would end up. I prefer the one batch I fried because I actually had the right ingredients and it tasted really good. The batch I baked was too sweet for me because I ran out of flour so I improvised with frosted flakes and saltine crackers. It still ended up good. It helps that I can watch these videos on YouTube that will show you how to cook certain things. For example, my sister loves Korean food so I looked up how to cook some Korean dishes, so sometime soon I am going to surprise her with Kim-chi and Korean fried chicken. I myself enjoy the Spanish food and my Dad, being the Caribbean person he is, loves his curry and Caribbean food. Learning how to cook all this is definitely fun, I am though scared to taste my own food. I'm afraid to taste it because I am too critical of myself. So my sister taste tests most of my food.

DC comics

Well since I wrote about Marvel Comics, I feel the need to make an input on DC comics. I prefer Marvel over DC, but I do like some DC characters. I've always liked Wonder Woman. I know every guy I've met is in love with Batman only because of the Dark Knight movie, to me you're all hopping on a bandwagon. The movies have only been remaking Batman and Superman for as long as I can remember. I want them to do a different comic book character, but please don't let it be like the Green Lantern... I couldn't stand watching it, no offense Ryan Reynolds. I've always like Teen Titans, the show and the comic book. My favorite character in Teen Titans is Raven, she's so cool to me, She's dark, mysterious, constantly battling with her evil side and good side. Her back story is cool to me. How she has to overcome her demon father and try to be a hero knowing she is half demon. Idk I like the idea of someone overcoming their evil ways to be good.

Marvel Comics

Recently I've been going through my trunk of old books and comics to find things to sell on the internet. I found a bunch of old comic books I used to have, they weren't in the greatest conditions but they were readable. But I found a first issue of Thor, it isn't that valuable because it was made in 2006. But I was so tempted to take it out of its clear slip and read it. I am a comic book nerd for a girl. I'm not super obsessed with comic books but I enjoy reading comics and watching the movies (which aren't so exact but whatever). My favorite marvel comic character is Wolverine, the animal like feature is sexy to me. The violence is a plus also. I do say, Hugh Jackman plays a nice wolverine. I also think the guy who plays Thor in the movies is very very attractive. Woo love comic book men lol

Roseanne Ending

*Spoiler Alert*

The final episode of Roseanne blew my mind. The final episode revealed more than I could handle. It turns out that her husband Dan, really did die from that heart attack, Darlene was actually with Mark and Becky is with David. Bev, Roseanne's mom is actually straight and her sister is actually the gay one. It really blew my mind, now when I watch the re-runs on tv, I can't look at the show the same way again.

I am in total shock. Roseanne never won the lottery in the show, and she made up whole story of Dan having an affair. The ending showed her coming out of the basement, her writing room, and walking through her actual house. It was a sad ending to the show but it showed how writing humorously helped Roseanne Connor cope with all the bad things in her life.

Avatar

I am getting into the show Avatar: The Legend of Korra. I am kind of interested, but I think the first Avatar was better. I like the whole Aang and his group of friends better than Korra and her friends. I mainly watch the show to find out what the hell happened to Zuko's mother. Where did she go? I know that Katara knows because she was about to say it in one of the episodes. I do like Aang and Katara's kids. There names and that 2/3 of them are benders, one water and one air.

I think its cool that Katara is alive in this show too. And how Korra has these visions on what happened in Aang's later years of life. I do think the new problems in the show legend of korra are weird. The problems are way more different that the fire nation taking control. Its like normal people vs all benders, then benders vs benders, now its spirits vs people and the water tribes are being stupid. But I will continue to watch this show.

I Love Lucy

Lucille Ball is my all time favorite actress. She is a comedic genius and was a flawless. She loved her family obviously. She to me would be the perfect woman. I loved her show I love lucy by desilu productions. Desi Arnez and Lucille Ball built there industry together and loved each other very much. I hear that he did cheat on her though but they tried working through it by making that show. I've always longed to have their on screen relationship, minus the housewife stuff. I loved how he sang to her and they pulled all sorts of pranks and schemes on each other just to prove something. I like that new song called Ricky Ricardo that came out. Lucille Ball is my role model with her relationship, although they did divorce, you could see that they still cared for each other. I wish they would have stayed together and continue to build their industry. Hmm just imagine that. Anyway I'm sick and hopped up on cough medicine so I felt like talking about my role model

Washington DC

I've only been to DC once in my entire life. And it was so historic, I loved it. The only reason DC comes to mind right now is because of the government shutdown. Because of the government shutdown no one is allowed to go in the area, like the mall (not shopping mall).

I remember going on vacation with my boyfriend up to DC for the first time. It was nice, regardless of all the construction going on in the area. I saw the Lincoln Memorial, it was so big and beautiful, it was better than I imagined.. For one I imagined it to be a monkey thanks to that planet of the apes remake. I saw so many statues of liberators it was very nice. I saw the Vietnam war memorial wall, I saw the World War 2 memorial. I saw the air and space museum too (boy was the food in there wayyyyy overpriced!). Seeing all these things were exciting, I went to the botanical garden and saw a whole bunch of plants I knew. I liked walking the nation's capital.

But it was an experience I enjoyed. I toured Capital Hill and went through the Library of Congress. Seeing that historic place made me proud to be an American.
Not to mention I got a good tan out of it too, woo was it hot when I went.

People change

Its scary knowing that someone can change so drastically. I remember when I started high school with all my middle school friends, thinking we will be together forever. I consider them my brothers and I still do, I miss them dearly. But a lot of things changed my relationship with them. Drugs, who I'm dating, who I've dated before, fights, who've they dated, other friends, etc. I barely talk to them now, the only person out of my group of middle school friends that I still talk to is... shoot just the person I'm dating now. And I know that the guy I'm dating now is still changing. In a way I'm changing also, I just don't see it fully. I'm scared of what more change will bring, I don't want to lose anymore people close to me. I already feel alone now, I have my boyfriend and a new group of friends. But they aren't the same. My boyfriend tells me to just move past them because obviously they've moved on past me and that hurts to hear. It hurts knowing the people you consider like brothers don't want anything to do with you. It hurts moving on from any sort of break up, because in a way I broke up with my old friends. I don't like feeling alone now. The new friends I have, I don't trust them and I don't want to get close to them (hidden backstory). They aren't even my friends, things they've done and for one they are my boyfriend's friends, they tolerate me. They don't love me like my friends before.. Hell I don't think my old friends even love me anymore. I'm sorry this is kinda personal, I have no diary that wasn't already invaded by my family. So I have this. No one here knows my name so I feel as though I can vent here.

Rain

I hate the rain, its so depressing to me. It always seems to rain when I'm sad or deep in thought. I love the sun, the heat and a cool summer breeze. I love wearing shorts, tank tops and sandal; not rain boots and a poncho.

The only time I do like rain is when it is a hurricane. I love hurricanes, I grew up watching the storm tracking and peeking through the shutter cracks of the window to see leaves and stuff flying. I remember when I was young and there was a category 4 hurricane that hit the place I was living. It lasted all day and went into the late of night. I remember I snuck out of my room and when the dining area window and peeked through. I saw stuff flying, cable wires moving like snakes, and I saw this weird blue orb flying around the house. I thought it was a spark from the cable/electricity wire, but you usually hear them crackling if sparks flew from it. I watched the light and it didn't exactly fall to the ground, it circled the house. I know because it flew out of my line of vision and came back from the other side. To me, I thought it was an angel. Mainly because before any hurricane my Dad would pray for angels to protect my house, and I feel as though as a child I saw an angel protecting me.

I still hate the rain, when it ruins plans or makes me feel even more sad but I will always love hurricanes and tropical storms.

Gravity

*SPOILER ALERT*

I just came back from watching Gravity. That was the most dizziest movie every. So much spinning it was making me sick, and lightheaded. As I am typing this, I feel like the room is spinning.

Even though I got crazily lightheaded I have to say I like the movie. Sorta. Sandra Bullock has the worst luck in the movie, it pissed me off how much bad luck she was having. The American satellite broke down, the Russian satellite broke down, the Chinese satellite pod almost drowned her. My gosh man, its like she's her own character on the George Lopez show again.

But really sitting here and thinking about the movie. There was part where she was in the Russian satellite and she took off the heavy suit and she lay floating in the pod area. She looked like a baby in the womb. And it got me thinking about how sensitive the human life is. How one thing can go wrong and cause chaos. And within the chaos you find out how determined you are to go through it until the end. In the movie she almost gave up, but she didn't and that showed how we can overcome the fear of dying or losing by trying. That and some vodka sounds lovely right now.

I do say though the spinning camera didn't sit well with me. On a scale of one to ten, I give it a 4. They need to make my head stop spinning.

Roseanne

No I am not rating the show Roseanne. Lately I've been really getting into the show for some reason. It is very funny to me. It slightly reminds me of my family, the ultimate sarcasm. Boy, don't I have that. The show is entertaining and I like it. Not to mention I think I look like Darlene from the show. I think it is funny also that the guy who plays David is Lenard on the Big Bang Theory. Kinda shows where he famous.

Kinda like how in Full House, the guy who plays DJ's boyfriend is actually the voice over actor of Disney's Aladdin. Interesting, huh?

Anyway I've been getting into plenty of other shows too. Like Modern Family. But I like the whole old school look and feel like Roseanne. Its entertaining and I sorta like the funny marriage that Roseanne has with Dan. It funny to me seeing that they are a couple that has fun with each other... Yes, I know they aren't really together and its scripted but I like that. Gives a girl an idea on what kind of marriage she wants in the future.

Wolverine

*NERD WARNING*
*SPOILER ALERT*

I am in love with Wolverine, ugh. And Hugh Jackman is the perfect Australian man to play my Canadian mutated hunk. I am a marvel fan, love marvel. I love all their movies, so action packed and awesome! Of course not all of it is exactly like the comic but hey it wasn't as bad as the Green Lantern movie that was made.

Anyway, I enjoyed this movie it was good. I love the action, I love the Japanese culture mix in. I enjoyed watching the flashback of Japan being nuked. I did actually see the ending coming, with the old guy in the suit. Kinda freaky though.

I couldn't make myself stop laughing when the blonde chick spit acid and had killer breath, literally. I thought of her being a teenager and someone handing her mentos after she would breath on someone and kill them.

I liked the little connection Logan had with the girl, Mariko. It was cute but I kinda wanted her to end up with that evil ninja guy. But oh well..

I personally like x-men origins:wolverine better. I mean it showed more of his background, why he got brain washed and such.

But anyway on a scale of 1-10, I give it a 7. Good action, enjoyed it very much

Oz the Great and Powerful

*SPOILER ALERT*...sorta

I personally think James Franco is a wonderful actor, very funny man,and can be very dramatic. I personally think all his comedies were on point. I am also a big wizard of oz fan, love Wicked, the original Wizard of Oz book and movie, and I loved The Wiz.

But I personally didn't like Oz the Great and Powerful so much. I mean it sorta made sense to the whole Wizard of Oz thing, on how the wizard got there and used holograms to trick a broken heart witch. But here's my question, if the good witch and all the other people of Oz knew he wasn't magical and it was machine, then why would they send Dorothy to him if they knew the truth. And the monkey, why wasn't he is Wizard of Oz movie? Hmm the only monkey I saw in a bellhop suit was working for the Wicked Witch of the West.

And why turn the hot Mila Kunis into the ugly green lady?

Like I said I love James Franco, but when he started singing in the movie I wanted to leave. I am sorry but I couldn't deal. It really made me want to laugh. I remember hearing somewhere that James Franco regretted making the movie Your Highness... That is my one of my favorite movies...

I say if you have a movie to regret it's this one... Your Highness was so funny to me, and yes I was sober when I was watching it.

Anyone if I were to rate this on a 1-10, I give this movie a 4

The Butler

*Spoiler Alert*

I am a sucker for stories that are based off true events, and true historic events. Lee Daniel's The Butler was an amazing movie. It was so moving to me,I enjoyed every moment watching it. People say not all the event in the movie were true. For one it was said to be loosely based off of the butler named Eugene Allen.

Cecil Gaines was a very good person, did what he was told and always followed the rules in a way. I loved how devoted he was to his work, of course that would take a toll in his family life. I love the people they chose to play the presidents in this film. The man who played Nixon was so close to Nixon. And Robin Williams, good actor. I love the cast they chose for the Gaines family. Oprah was moving and not to mention funny. The two sons were wonderful actors.

It showed what was going on through the whole civil rights movement. To me that is very interesting, seeing what hardships the African-American community had to endure to get the freedom we have today. I love the ending when Cecil came to the white house to meet President Barack Obama. I also liked the part where he realized that his son wasn't just being rebellious, he was just fighting for his right. A lot of people at the time probably didn't realize what the young kids were doing when they were riding the freedom bus, or protesting for Nelson Mandela's release in South Africa.

All in all, it was a great movie.

On a scale from 1-10 I give this an 8 and I highly recommend people to see.

At World's End

On a scale from 1-10, I give this movie a 7. It was very funny and I enjoyed it a lot. But like I said when rating insidious 2, I like more realistic movies. It was still a funny as hell movie. I enjoyed the drinking, the humor, the fights, the random alien takeover. All the works.

I enjoyed Shawn of Dead also, so of course I enjoy this movie. I feel like going to Britain, where my family resides, and drinking at some of the local pubs. But then again, I'm not much a beer drinker, I like the straight alcohol. Like Hennessy and Vodka. But anyway... Good movie, I recommend it to people looking to laugh.

Insidious 2

I recently saw Insidious 2 and I have to say on a scale of 1-10, I have to give it a 6. I felt as though there was more humor than horror in this film. And it was very unusual compared to the first movie. But it did explain some things in a way

*Spoiler Alert*
DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER IF YOU DON'T WANT PARTS OF THE FILM SPOILED!

The ghost that was haunting the family, I just ended up feeling bad for him in the long run. His mother was the she devil honestly. I felt as though the reason he killed so many women, besides his mother making him kill people, was because it was a way of revenge towards women. The whole bride in black thing was even weirder, his mother had him wrapped around her finger. I also felt as though it was strange that before he died he knew he was going to haunt Josh.

I would also like to say that I like other scary movies because they are more realistic. I don't like the whole other realm thing because to me it isn't as realistic as it sounds. And the outer body experiences while still being in the present house also threw me for a loop.

Also there was too much humor for me. When I want to be scared, I wanna be scared and not laugh after. Make me piss my pants like I almost did in the first movie.

And what about that ending... WTF was there? What did the ghost lady see behind the girl in the wheelchair? Is there going to be another installment of insidious, but with a Latino family??

My cravings

Lately I've been craving something sweet...actually something sour but then turns sweet.

I don't mean like those lame sour punch straws. I mean something that will make my face turn. Like Warheads, ooo my favorite sour hard candy. I love it, and I love seeing other people's reactions to eating it for the first time. Another sour candy I like is Crybabies, best sour bubble gum ever. To me at least it is. I remember the first time I gave it to my baby brother, who at the time was three years old. My sister and I recorded it, I found it adorable and funny. The faces he was making were priceless.

I think I like sour candy from my Mom. She's been a sour addict for as long as I could remember. I think her favorite candy is Lemon heads. Which are okay to me, but I know she can handle way worse. I remember we took to family vacation to Central America. We were bored and my mom said she was craving something sour. I remember her finding a lime slice and salt. She poured the salt onto the lime, popped it into her mouth (not the skin obviously) and took it like a champ. Woo, go Mom!

I am actually considering doing a non video challenge of me eating warheads or crybabies sometime soon.

Sports Teams

I would like to say that I am not a die hard sports fan, but I do enjoy occasionally watching sports. My boyfriend and his family go crazy over sports. They pick and choose a good team they like. I honestly can care less. I will say I will support ALL my home teams when it comes to sports; And I am from Miami. Let's go Heat! And Dolphins woo! I know when I tell people about my football team, they act like I have a disease. Hey, the Dolphins can't suck forever. The Heat are just awesome. The Marlins are decent.. I don't know much about football or hockey so don't judge me on that one.

RIP Tom Clancy

To all my book worms out there, I am sorry to inform you that Tom Clancy died today, age 66. So far I know no cause of death just yet. My condolences goes out to his loved ones and friends. I am also sorry to say I have never read one of this man's books. I am surprised to hear that this "Bestselling Author" died. I feel a little ashamed I never picked up any of his books. I did look up a list of books he has written and there are soooooo many books he wrote. Which shocks me even more that I never heard of him until his death. Someone smack the top of my hand. I will run to the nearest library and check out one of his books...as soon as I can find the time. I am a busy person. Idk how I have time to blog.

Texting & Driving

Today,
A new law was passed in Florida. It banned texting and driving. If those "it can wait" commercials don't do enough for you Florida citizens, then here's a new way to stop. Maybe it will lower there count of car crashes due to texting. I do not condone the use of cellular devices while driving

ANARCHY

So I recently heard on Sourcefed (what I watch instead of real news) that there is or was a possibility of a government shut down. And as I am researching this, we are actually in it right now. All this for Obamacare? Republicans didn't want to fund it while Democrats were all for it. Personally, this doesn't change my place in society. Politics isn't my thing, I am neither Democratic nor Republican so I guess I will label myself as independent. But according to my voter's registration, I'm democratic. I need to fix that. I mean there isn't anything wrong with either party. Republicans, in my eyes, are the old school Christian people that like the way things were run before. Democrats, to me, are all for changing to help the lower class rise from the ashes. There isn't anything wrong with that, I hear a lot of people say that those who are part of the Democratic party are lazy and just want the government to give them free things. For all those who I've heard say that, I would like to say Fuck you. Not every democrat is lazy and want free things, just like not every Republican is a rich, racist, cracker. People should really put themselves in another person's shoes before they JUDGE. Some democrats in this nation need help from the government to help take care of their family. Growing up, my parents were on food stamps to buy me and my siblings food, if it wasn't for those food stamps I would have gone days without eating. In fact, I actually did go days without eating because sometimes when my dad made a little more money we didn't qualify. Not every republican is a rich, racist, cracker. I know plenty of middle class minorities who are republicans. But anyway back to the shutdown, I didn't realize we were in one... So now what? wait until congress compromises? HA!

Sorry

Sorry for my disappearance, I've been busy lately with school work and trying to find ways to make money. And I have found a way to do so.. I've created an ebay account to sell all my old books that I no longer read. Well I personally don't read a book more than once unless I am deathly bored. But I am selling some books. Books that I've already sold is Nevermore by James Patterson, The Color Purple by Alice Walker, and the Nazi Officer's wife. Other books that are still on my ebay account include Crank, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Heretic Queen, Catcher in the Rye. All books that I've enjoyed.
