Puerto Rico

I sincerely apologize for my leave of absence from this blog, The last five days I was in the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. Unfortunately this was not a vacation, I was morning the loss of one of my boyfriend's family members. But we also sought out the opportunity to go not only to celebrate her life but to see the sites where a part of my boyfriends family originated.

Puerto Rico, a Caribbean Latin American Island, not that far from Florida and a US commonwealth, felt like I stepped into another county. I have never been to Puerto Rico before, this was my first trip and I can say I loved it there. We arrived around 6 p.m. on a Saturday afternoon, our flight was a two hour trip and went through smoothly... Sorta. Let's just say I found out I do not like flying on a plane. I have nothing against the mode of transportation but its like a roller coaster simulator and I get highly irritated of that feeling. I almost broke my boyfriend's hand when we took off in Florida and landed in PR.

First thing I was told about Puerto Rico before going there wasn't that it was a beautiful country nor was I suggested places to visit. I got the negative first and was told of the high amount of Zika cases present in the country. Hell on the way to the airport, I saw a giant condom billboard ad promoting safe sex, because Zika is sexual transmitted as well. A friend of mine was like "Don't catch the Zika!" So my boyfriend and I packed travel size bottles of military grade bug spray in our carry on bags. I was also told before leaving how the country is practically going bankrupt and how their taxes is higher than those in Florida. Oh not the mention the driving! The driving was worse than a drag race through congestion of the I-95, for those who live in Florida, you know that is hell. My road rage couldn't handle getting behind the wheel.

But I will say I saw many beautiful scenes while I was in Puerto Rico, the mountains, beaches, and the unique community of people made my experience a good one. Not to mention the drinking age is 18 and up, so almost every night I had an alcoholic beverage in my hand. The food, although most of what I had was fried, made me gain a few pounds while I was there. The pork, although I do not eat pork often, was to die for. The crispy skin and the Hispanic seasoning we all know and love made the food there amazing. One of my favorite things to eat while I was in PR was BacalaĆtos, fried cod fish in like a pancake batter. My goodness! God bless the Puerto Rican Momma who made this, I had it almost everyday I was there. Each day at Puerto Rico brought me to a new experience to another Hispanic culture besides my own. Learning of their legends, stories and Catholicism traditions in the island has brought me closer to my boyfriend and his family. Stay tuned for each day of my adventures in the beautiful island that is Puerto Rico.

This was taken from my hotel room.

Foster's summer finale

I don't remember if I said this before but, I am not a girly show type person....

But the Foster's is my isshhh. Lol

I just watched the summer finale and all the things I expected to happen happened!

Spoiler Alert!

I never like Callie's half sister since the beginning, she seemed like the spoiled type to hold her breathe if she didn't get what she wanted..

I believe when she went into the bathroom at the ending scene, that she'll either cut herself or try to commit suicide.. I know it's a little extreme but remember this girl ripped up the papers that sign Callie away. Bitch is crazy!

I also had a feeling Jude will come out with his friend.. They did something they weren't supposed to, which we all saw coming.

What I didn't see coming is Lena saying peace out to her position as Assistant Principal at the school. Wasn't it a private or charter school? Doesn't that mean the kids may have to leave?

Anyway also Jesus needs to break up with that Haley girl, she's an attention craving girl.. I didn't like Emma either. I liked the first girl he started going out with, Marianna's friend...

Sorry if I am misspelling all the names..

Oh and Callie and Brandon kissing... To be honest I don't like them together as a couple.. I like Wyatt with Callie, and that other girl with Brandon.

But I cannot wait to see the next season and all that it has to offer.

The Fosters

I do not normally get into the whole chick type soap operas or cheesy girly shows on ABC Family, but the Fosters are a different story. I am always watching it every Monday night. It is obviously about a Foster family but the story line is so interesting and there are constants twists and juicy drama.. The plot and everything is so hard to explain because a lot happens that I cannot summarize so I'll just post a wikipedia link or something to summarize it for me. Great show though, highly recommend it

But anyway I like how modern it is. How they incorporate the gay community and the other ethnicity groups in the mix.. It shows that they do not discriminate.. I can't wait until next Monday to watch it as well

Yay Brian

On Sunday, the creators of Family Guy decided to bring back the beloved canine companion of young Stewie Griffin. Assuming from the episode the week before, audiences assumed that the mobster themed dog, Vinny would be staying around. They included him in the opening theme song, so people can only assume so much. But in this episode, Vinny helps Stewie steal a time machine control pad from a another Stewie Griffin from the past that came to a toy store. It's complicated to explain but Stewie managed to save Brian from getting hit from the car. He also explained to Brian that if he didn't he would die, and Brian is then eternally grateful for being saved. To me the saddest part of the episode is when the Griffin family went to the mall and Stewie sat on mall-Santa's lap to tell him what he wanted for Christmas. He told Santa he wanted his best friend back and started crying. I made me feel sad for the poor kid, it showed that evil little Stewie Griffin is a true kid with a heart. I liked that Brian came back. It was a ridiculous scheme to bring more viewers by killing him off but hey I am not a producer on the show.

RIP Brian Griffin

For those of you who missed the latest Family Guy episode, I am sad to inform you that Brian Griffin died. He was struck by a vehicle and did not survive. I honestly teared up when I watched the whole episode. I mainly cried because Stewie cried when Brian died. It is sad because not only was he Peter's best friend but he was also Stewie's. Although Brian did pass, the family decided it would be best to get a new dog. His name is Vinny, he's like a Soprano's character. He, hopefully, will be there for Stewie like how Brian was.

Many people were disappointed and mad that Seth MacFarlane and other producers decided to get rid of Brian Griffin.. But they are the experts and they do compete with shows like the Walking Dead for views every Sunday. So they needed something to get everyone's attention so they did so. Hopefully it won't be like another two and a half men. They got rid of Charlie, replaced him with Ashton Kutcher, and then the actor who plays Jake leaves also.So two and a half men basically became just two men... Please hope family guy won't be like this

My Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving holiday was fun for me. I enjoyed eating good food and spending time with all my family. Every Thanksgiving and Easter I go to my grandmother's house to eat and talk to my Dad's side of the family. After we eat we always either pull out the old photo albums or my dad and his brothers discuss things they used to do when they were little. Which is good and it makes me realize they lived the definition of YOLO. They did things like mooning people, fight, jump off cliffs into the water, surf, and constantly go on adventures. It makes me realize how Americanized I am. I can't do the things my dad and mom did because they lived in another country. They had fun and ran wild, I'd be look down upon by society if I acted like how my dad was. I mean I could try to do things like he did but the way the law is and where I am, it may not work that way

Rain

I hate the rain, its so depressing to me. It always seems to rain when I'm sad or deep in thought. I love the sun, the heat and a cool summer breeze. I love wearing shorts, tank tops and sandal; not rain boots and a poncho.

The only time I do like rain is when it is a hurricane. I love hurricanes, I grew up watching the storm tracking and peeking through the shutter cracks of the window to see leaves and stuff flying. I remember when I was young and there was a category 4 hurricane that hit the place I was living. It lasted all day and went into the late of night. I remember I snuck out of my room and when the dining area window and peeked through. I saw stuff flying, cable wires moving like snakes, and I saw this weird blue orb flying around the house. I thought it was a spark from the cable/electricity wire, but you usually hear them crackling if sparks flew from it. I watched the light and it didn't exactly fall to the ground, it circled the house. I know because it flew out of my line of vision and came back from the other side. To me, I thought it was an angel. Mainly because before any hurricane my Dad would pray for angels to protect my house, and I feel as though as a child I saw an angel protecting me.

I still hate the rain, when it ruins plans or makes me feel even more sad but I will always love hurricanes and tropical storms.

Roseanne

No I am not rating the show Roseanne. Lately I've been really getting into the show for some reason. It is very funny to me. It slightly reminds me of my family, the ultimate sarcasm. Boy, don't I have that. The show is entertaining and I like it. Not to mention I think I look like Darlene from the show. I think it is funny also that the guy who plays David is Lenard on the Big Bang Theory. Kinda shows where he famous.

Kinda like how in Full House, the guy who plays DJ's boyfriend is actually the voice over actor of Disney's Aladdin. Interesting, huh?

Anyway I've been getting into plenty of other shows too. Like Modern Family. But I like the whole old school look and feel like Roseanne. Its entertaining and I sorta like the funny marriage that Roseanne has with Dan. It funny to me seeing that they are a couple that has fun with each other... Yes, I know they aren't really together and its scripted but I like that. Gives a girl an idea on what kind of marriage she wants in the future.
